This post will support a grant funded research project on age-related diseases, with a special focus on the effects of common genetic variation. Conditions of interest include cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity and Alzheimer’s disease. There will be opportunities to develop your own research interests within the project.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated scientist to an Associate Research Fellow position. You will have a degree in epidemiology, statistics, bioinformatics or equivalent and have a knowledge and experience of undertaking statistical analyses of human study genetic and other data.

A PhD in a relevant subject or evidence of PhD level research outputs would be desirable as would skills in statistical analysis, including use of relevant software.This is a University of Exeter appointment and will be based in Exeter.

Salary will be on the Associate Research Fellow scale of £24,273 – £27,319, with access to further contribution points rising to £30,747

Point on scale will be determined by knowledge, skills and experience, and will be clarified following interview. The post will be fixed term until 30th April 2012.
