Exam..a need or just an optional?

Exam..a need or mere optional?we get familiarized with it since our school bench nor in the kindergarten…until and after certain phased,..it does not become an optional anymore..for instance for those who admitted in a college or university, examination became a university’s preliminary requirement in order for them to successfully graduated from their study phase..it assisted graduated to find their job and entering their future profession ..otherwise it would impact a negative result..it also can be a remark of someone’s achievement…for instance, those who graduated with first class degree make them differ from the rest with the third clss etc..all these were just people’s perceptions in our unity of diversity. This sounds competitive..examination can be means to determine one’s credibility and effort. It such a bonus for those who excelled in their own field…Indeed the failure might turn up frustrated and examination is the only tool for them to encourage more effort to achieve the success..how far the exams are proven to be one of the achievement of success in people’s lifetime?in fact thre are quite number of people out there who still can suceed without examination..they are people who make life seems easier without passing any examination..take this for example a businessman with only high school education background but he can be counted on in making money and his own reliabiltity inextending his network with the others..comparing with a graduated with a scroll but still jobless…To disect further, some of the institutions offered courses without examination..in the other words, their objective seems more practical rather than theoritical..how far the society approved these tremendously educational system?

In Malaysia, the government seems stressed more on theoritical rather practical..in fact, this required a far analytical study and it proposal debate in parliament accordingly because it tend to educate us into memorising stuff rather than better understanding, especially in university level and afterwards ..the result would be scandalous and prejudice to our wn education system..It can be happened in a course where it required student reading and understanding..for those who are really good in memorising they tend to memorise all even without understanding..There are some people who i noticed kinda sux in tackiling the papers and failed for few times but still had better performed for the rest of the academic base..take note for example: mooters, debators, or SRC..they can well generate their own knowledge and ideas. They’re bind with such input and expressed it inline with their own feel and in time when they are required to do so…those fall within the category of non exam oriented..Related example mwith this would be Karpal Singh. He’s recognised as non exam oriented due to the fact that he end rolled up himself with a 3rd class degree..im still doubtful with conventional examination system practised in certain institution..with only 2 days examination week…and sometimes with no study week at all..hell yeah, could it still be regarded as a study week? sometimes there’s no gap with one paper and the other, all that they need to do  burn the midnite oil and fingering papers in sleepless mood..In addition, it a burdern some bacause our mind n brain need a rest..1 paper can take 2-3 hours..wutelse now? It highly recommended that Ministry of Education in our country should take it seriously andrevised our education system.

In my own point of view, examinations don’t cover a wide enough spectrum.People all learn differently and an examination doesn’t always give a person a chance to fully demonstrate the extent of their knowledge on a subject.Every person is different so not everyone is going to be book smart and be able to do an examination. People all have different reactions to examinations too, i.e. some panic beforehand and go blank under high pressure and stressful situations even if they know the information. For exams, some people tend to cram and remember the information long enough to complete the exam but do not retain the information afterwards. Instead of examinations, hands on practical experience tends to be more useful in memory retention and learning. For example Med students don’t just sit and exam and then then start cutting people open the next day, they do hands on training and learning. The same applied to law students, who need a better preparation although they did so 3months prior to the exams..Our memories are strengthen during period of rests while we are awake
